Phaeros’ Resource Management System (RMS) is a solution dedicated to the management and planning of Personnel and Machinery resources at a port. The RMS module can either be integrated with Phaeros’ Port Management & Community System “Harbour View” or used as a separate solution in a port.

Managing resources in a port can be challenging and requires specific data and functions:

• Personnel
  • Knowing the number of skilled personnel available in various domains
  • Knowing whether these personnel are actually available on a given day (planned holidays, sickness, check-ups, company training, ...)
  • Being able to create teams, and rosters for routine allocation of work
  • Planning uniform allocation of work, when the work is sparse (roster based)
  • Map skills to persons, and track validity of certifications / check-up

• Machinery
  • Knowing availability and information about machinery
  • Scheduling routine and breakdown servicing of equipment
  • Ensure proper rotation of use wherever possible
  • Keeping track of important maintenance activities and informing operations (for example when a particular harbour crane is unavailable, it could impact berthing schedules)

• Gangs
  • Specialist tasks can only be performed when multi-skilled teams of personnel work with specific equipment in a given period
  • A gang of personnel and equipment needs to be scheduled as a unit, because specialist tasks can not be performed when even one member of the team is not available
